ADSZ Shipping Cost Calculator N2H1K7

Updated 2006.8.18.

Whether you buy from this website (http://adsz.tripod.com) or via Ebay (seller ID n2h1k7), you may want to have an idea on the shipping cost for your selected item.
Do a test run using the Canada Post website. Here is what you should enter for the test:

Regular parcel service
Originator's postal code: N2H1K7
Your destination postal code: ... ...
Package weight in kilograms, 5.9 (or some estimated or quoted value point nine).
Dimensions, use centimeters, these relate to liters and kilos in a decimal fashion. Example: 30x30x42cm result 37.8 liters, after you divide the multiplication by 1000. Or enter decimeters: 3*3*4.2.
Options: Check mark C.O.D. Also check mark Unpackaged, if the offer does not state packaged. C.O.D. means you pay the postal office the postage when they deliver the parcel. The parcel's contents must be prepaid before shipment process begins.

After you submit the entries, CP will inform you about the cost for this example. Make sure there is no zero value in the results table for any service demanded above. Only then are you sure that every factor has been included in the calculation.

Use the browser's back button to go back and change dimensions, weight and insurance value (coverage) only to the real figures. Submit again and print the result. This should be a useful estimate of the Cash On Delivery amount you will be asked to pay to Canada Post. You should do this before your definite purchase committement if you are concerned about the cost. Shipment conditions will not change if you don't follow this recommendation.

What to do if only approx. net weight and parcel volume is available, no box size.
For dimensions use a typical box size containing the required volume liters. Add some padding space for "unpacked" items. See above for calculating approximate dimensions from liters. (length x width x height in decimeters, play around starting with 3*3*3=27 liters, then 3*3*6, etc. until you get a close result with less than 20% difference. It is just an estimate !
You will have to pay no more than the actual C.O.D cost, including insurance for the bid value plus postage, plus packaging.
